Welcome to PURL Stitch Designs™! We are a women-owned, innovative company who is bringing a totally new way to wear Greek letters, Corporate Logo Wear, and Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness apparel. Typically in these markets there were only t-shirts, polos, and large, oversized men’s wear……until WE came along! Now you can sport your Greek letters, Corporate Logo or Pink Ribbon wearing the latest designs and styles. Our forte is creating your letters or logo uniquely and subtly in our great, high-quality sweaters and knit scarves.

So how often do you see a company run by three women ranging in age from their 20s to their 60s? We may be the first! From Kim offering her fresh perspective as the youngest member of our group, to Darla contributing her business experience, to Arlene throwing in her well-thought-through advice and mature perspective….we are running like a well-oiled, multi-generational machine!
First of all, we are owned and operated by three highly-beautiful (O.K. we exaggerated that part), ambitious women: Arlene, Darla and Kim. In the 80’s Arlene (Darla’s mom) knitted Darla a sorority sweater when Darla was an Alpha Phi at Purdue University. Everyone loved it, and Arlene wanted to start a sweater business, but the timing wasn’t right (no internet, etc.). Besides, Kim was only 2 years old at that time and would have drawn our designs with crayons! After twenty years of contemplating the business, Darla and Arlene started making serious plans for manufacturing our special sweaters. We eventually hooked up with Kim who was just returning from studying design in Italy: After Kim saw the original sorority sweater and made some drawings, we all jumped in to begin making the dream a reality. We publicly launched our business in June 2006 which included Sorority Greek Wear and Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness sweaters. A year later we added our Corporate Logo Wear line and have been going full steam ahead from there!
O.K., we’ll tell you. A purl stitch is the opposite of a knit stitch. We use this to subtly design your logo in our amazing sweaters and scarves. This unique style and technique makes people look twice at our sweaters and say, “Wow, that is really cool.”
